High Expectations
Everyone operates with the belief that all students, regardless of race or socio-economic background,
will (not can) achieve at superior levels when taught in a high-quality way.
All students will be expected to graduate from high school and then attend and graduate from the college of their choice.
Commitment and Choice
We are a school of choice. Staff, students, and families must choose to commit to work harder, behave better, and think more in order to ensure academic success for all our students.
More Time
Students spend 67 percent more time in school than traditional students.
Through an extended school day and year and Saturday classes, students benefit from additional time.
Teachers are available after school to work with students.
Focus on Results
Everyone operates under the expectation that all students will do well on both state and national standardized tests.
Standardized tests are the minimum. Students are focused on PSAT, SAT, college admissions, summer programs, scholarships and additional real world results.
Power to Lead
At KIPP schools we believe that great schools require great school leaders. KIPP Gaston principal has control over the school’s budget and personnel, allowing him maximum effectiveness in helping students learn.
